Might as well get the bad news out of way first....

Unfortunately, i will not be going to Otakon this year. No job and No money equals No cons for Jessica this summer. Upset doesn't quite describe how i'm feeling about it, though i won't deny that it'll be nice to not have to rush to finish cosplays and focus on model building for a while.

Now something slightly less depressing...

I got my very first master grade model kit and shockingly its also my first very Universal Century model kit as well. Its the RX-0 Gundam Unicorn (i swear i'm not obsessed!) version KA. www.hlj.com/product/BAN952245 So rather than cosplay this summer, i will be devoting the bulk of my time to JOb hunting and Building this beastly kit. i might get the HD color MG unicorn as well at some point just so i can have one in standard mode and one in Destroy mode.

Even so, it wouldn't be summer if i didn't do a bit of sewing, Currently i'm working on finishing up Neo Sailor mercury fav.me/d1l1xmy and working on Zeon Uniforms for my boyfriend and i.

For my model building watchers, should have pics of my current project up in the next week or so. i daresay its my best kit to date.

1. What was your first cosplay? Yuna from FFX, and we shall never speak of it again.

2. Did someone get you into cosplay? Or on your own?
On my own, i alway loved looking at all the con pictures in Newtype USA.

3. What is your favourite cosplay?
its hard to pick, but Yoko is especially near and dear to my heart. alot of blood, sweat, tears and love went into making that gun.

4. Which is your least favourite?
for a variety of reasons, manaphy. not that it didn't look good, but  i can definately see why no one understood it. a curly wig for manaphy was probably a poor choice.

5. At conventions, do people compliment you on your cosplays?
Mostly. though my Orihime costume did cause an old asian women to start crying, that was a tad disheartening.

6. How many have you done?
10 or so ? i have quite a few that i've made recently but need things like wigs and accessories.

7. What are the top 5 on your list of "Want to Cosplay?"
1)Gwendolyn(odin sphere) for fantasy shoot in may
2)Neo Sailor Mercury was planned for acen, but since i'm not going, its for Otakon.
3) Zeon-chan (UC gundam)
4) Fate testarossa (Nanoha)damn it, i'm going to do this costume this year even it if kills me. its going to happen, and it'll be awesome.
5)Lightning (FF XIII)

8. What female cosplay do you want to do most?
Fate Testarossa! Her outfit in Strikers is literally the reason i watched the series in the first place. although strikers, was god awful.

9. What male cosplay do you want to do most?
Banagher Links(gundam unicorn), Heero Yuy(gundam wing), Alto Saotome(macross F) hmmm i'm seeing a pattern here....also Travis Touchdown from No more heroes.

10. What do you prefer to do, make or buy your costumes?
With the exception of a few pieces, all my cosplays are handmade by me.

11. Your most memorable experience? What makes it so memorable?
there are so many! Probably getting stopped every five feet in the inner harbor in baltimore on the last day of otakon. at one point we had to start refusing pictures. the best were all the small children and the eldery guy who said he only wanted a picture of the cute girls lol.

12. Your dream cosplay?
Besides fate, probably Lenneth from valkyrie profile. anything in my cosplay album on facebook.

13. Is there a pattern in your cosplays? If so, what?
It seems like i only cosplay from the most obscure video games and anime.

14. Your most recent cosplay?
The last one i wore to a con was Mari, but i've finished femme alto and mio akiyama. i've made quite a bit of progress on my zeon uniform as well.

15. What do you prefer? Cosplaying in a group or on your own?
In a group for sure, but since a lot of my friends are unfamiliar with alot of the games and anime i'm fond of, i frequently cosplay alone.

1)SMT Persona 3 FES edition.(PS2)  i can't even count how many hours i put into this game(the clock resets after 100 hours). While the battle system leaves alot to be desired, the story and character designs are top notch. this is one of the few games i've played that was challenging from start to finish, one must plan well ahead for bosses as well as dodge a fearsome being known the reaper as he hunts you during your ascent through Tartarus. the final boss, the Nyx avatar, is hands down the hardest boss of any role playing game i've played. ever.

2)We <3 Katamari. (PS2) While i love all the katamari games, We <3 katamari gets the nod for have the best level designs of all the katamari games. its a game that is both fun and challenging that manages to never become stale, thanks to a variety of play modes and co-op missions that could turn the best of friends into mortal enemies lol.

3)Pheonix wright Trials and Tribulations (NDS) again, while i love all the feeny wright games. the second in the series is a personal favorite. not only do we get a bit more insight on the fey clan, but we are introduced to the whip wielding dynamo Fransikca(i have no idea how to spell it, sorry)von karma, as well as the super adorable Pearl fey. this is also the first time we get to represent a client that is actually guilty as well. as with any good game, it answers questions that were raised in the original game while raising new ones. having played all the others currently released in the U.S. i'm looking forward to the release of the next game.

4)Shadow Hearts (PS2) this game wins not only because of the awesome story and original battle system, but because of the village of cannibals towards the beginning of the game, once the ground is covered in blood, the sounds of you squishy footsteps is soooo epically creepy and awesome. dead rising wins for similar reasons (clay pot+ zombie head= the most satisfying sound ever.)

5)Street fighter/guilty gear/ king of fighters (various) 2d fighters > 3d fighters. they just don't make 'em like they used to.
